Minimalist Sepicalm 3% + Oat Moisturizer Review

Price: Rs 349 for 50 ml (usually on discount)

If I have to describe this product in one line, "This is a basic, no-fuss-whatsoever moisturiser"! Now, skincare is subjective and my least favourite might be your ride or die. Same with this Minimalist product.

The jar is empty and there are a few pointers that I would like you to keep in mind before hitting "add to cart". I'll skip all the technical info; you can read all that here on the official website. So back to the review,

  • Who is it for: If you have oily skin, stay away; you can still use this in winters though. I have dry/combi sensitive skin, for reference.
  • This one is not a summer moisturiser, even for dry sin. A big no-no for humid climates. The face starts sweating with this on if the temp is high.
  • The texture is quite interesting; looks light in the jar, but you really have to dig your finger in the jar to take it out...turns thick when applied and takes a while to completely get absorbed; don't use too much or it'll will feel like a thick layer of cream sitting on your face.
  • Fragrance free, essential oil free, so sensitive skin friendly (an extra point for this). If your skin is feeling irritated/itchy because of any external factor, this will give you an instant relief, thanks to . This definitely calms down the skin post the facial steam session or post the had-too-much-sun session in winters!
  • Now something to take note of, this cream pills for some weird reason, so you can't use this in the middle of you skincare routine. If you want to use a sunscreen after using this, you just CANNOT. Because of this, you really have to check which products go well with this, otherwise it can be a really uncomfortable sight, along with product wastage. Honestly speaking, had I known this, I would've completely skipped buying this, as this pilling factor just limits its usage. I use this at the end of my skin care routine, as the final sealant, most of the times at night, as I cannot use it any other way.
  • I don't recommend using this on your bare dry face. Use a toner or spray some rose water...just splash some water on your face before using this!
  • Would I repurchase? No! Price point is good, ingredient list is supergood, is ultramoisturising, and I absolutely love it, but the pilling factor just breaks the deal. May be, if in the future, Minimalist comes out with a SPF version of this, I would like to try :)
Hope I have covered all the points; will update if I forgot anything!
