A fragrant start!

Hi!

This is the first post of this blog, so I thought why not start on a fragrant note and talk about potpourri :)

Potpourri basically is a mixture of dried fragrant flowers, kept in a bowl or fabric pouch. They are kept in houses to create that naturally fragrant environment. This can either be made at home, in quite easy steps, or bought in a ready-to-use form. These days, you have a million choices for the fragrance. The potpourri usually comes with a vial of essential oil or perfume of the same fragrance. One can add a couple of drops to the mixture as the fragrance diminishes with time. My personal favorite is rose, and then lavender.
Potpourri not just gives that woody scent to your room but is beautiful to look at too. You can put in bowls or fill the vases with it; it just looks beautiful!

Rose

Few weeks back, I came across a new concept of potpourri: Wooden fragrant balls! Rosemoore brought this idea to India. The balls are made of birch wood and dipped in the essential oils. If you find the actual potpourri messy (to my utter surprise, one of my friends does!), you can go for the wooden thing, can be kept in the drawers to. I quite like the concept.

Eucalyptus and Kaffir lime
In India, IRIS, Soulflower, and Rosemoore are quite famous brands.
